Common Crane (Grus grus)

A scarce breeding bird in the UK, this species has become a rare but familiar sight amongst birders in Shropshire. A huge bird and always impressive to see, the call is just as impressive having now seen and photographed one calling on Whixall Moss, Shropshire in 2010.
