Great Skua (Stercorarius skua)

A large imposing Skua which breeds in the North of Scotland but may be found along the UK coastline and at sea. Frequently seen attacking Terns or Gulls to disgorge their food. The 'barrel shaped' body and conspicuous wing bars are pointers to identification.
