Whooper Swan (Cygnus cygnus)

A very large Swan, similar in size to the Mute Swan but with long wedge shaped bill, largely yellow with a black tip (Bewicks have less yellow than black plus a short neck). A small group of usually 20+ regulalry overwinter in fields near Melverley, Shropshire.
