Lapwing (Vanellus vanellus)
A familiar bird of meadows, farmland and coastal habitats. With its crest, black (iridescent hues in sunlight) and white plumage plusfamiliar call, it is easily recognised. A supreme flier with acrobatic antics when defending territory or young.
